Upgrading furniture

I recently redecorated the master bedroom on a limited budget. We needed a chest of drawers however there was already one in the garage which used to be in my son's room until we replaced it last year with drawers and lockers to match his built in wardrobes. If there's one thing I dislike it's dumping perfectly good stuff so a bit of browsing on the web gave me the confidence to try it out myself.

I removed the knobs, gave it a light sanding and two coats of Zinsser B-I-N which is an amazing primer. Over the following days it got two more coats, this time Colortrend satinwood in Almost White. I'm so happy with it!

This is my first blog. I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm 35, mother of two children, wife, health care professional. My son is 6 and my daughter is 4. I work part time and my children are in school. So the days I'm home and the children are at school I busy myself with cooking, cleaning and all the boring stuff. I also try to keep on top of the garden and do some DIY around the house, usually painting. I also love shopping however funds are low (damn recession) so these days it is more likely that I get my fix buying nail varnish in Penneys than Chanel.

 I guess this blog is going to be a platform for documenting little projects that I do, and stuff I'm interested in at any given time. What blogs do you enjoy reading? My favourites are interiors and style blogs.
